Asuka Bike Version

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

Someone on multiplayer notepad (Read: IRC) posted a link to a /fig/ board containing EVA figurines.

As a ‘huge’ Asuka ‘fan’, the first picture featured the 1/5.5 Asuka Room Wear Version which is coming out on Jan 2007. I wasn’t interested in that picture however, as it costs 14,800 yen (HLJ is having an early bird special where if you pre-order it before 29 Oct, you’ll get a 5% off) and doesn’t really look that attractive.

What caught my attention instead was the last picture… Asuka Bike Version!

^ A very hawt looking Asuka!

^ A rather sexy Rei!

Now that’s a really hot looking Asuka. There’s a Rei Bike Version as well, but somewhat not as nice as compared to Asuka’s. Probably it’s the color combinations used.

On the side note, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien fans can rejoice as the web anime Ayumayu Theater gets put up on the web! A clever spin-off from the anime, it includes the cute, chibi Daikuji Ayu and Tamano Mayu!

Rain owned me

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I got owned by the rain.

As you guys may (or may not) know, I’m started cycling to school instead of taking the public transport.

Cycling to school shaves off about 15 mins in travelling time, plus I get exercise this way, and free transportation :)

Parents and friends did argue about me getting all sweaty when I reach school. But it doesn’t really matter as I will  be in school about 20 mins earlier, which is my cooldown period.

Anyway, I didn’t think it was necessary to bring along a poncho on my way out today… which was a big mistake. It rained quite heavily aruond 4.30pm and I unfortunately got caught in the rain as my lessons end at 5. I was stuck in school for about 20-30mins, hoping the rain would get lighter, before attempting to cycle back home. Alas, it was still heavy, and I (being impatience), decided to battle out with the rain.

Armed with only my Nike cap and bag, it was a walkover for mr rain man. I got home all drenched.

Point? Remember to pack a poncho in my bag!

Characters and Relationships

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

“So what kind of girls do you like?”

I wasn’t taken aback by that question. This was as I hardly tell anyone about my life.

“I like those with twin ponytails… pigtails are they not?”

“How about their character and stuff?”

“I don’t really mind someone who’s outgoing, perceptive, resourceful and yet sensible” (Can’t remember if I said that)

Yes, I have a “fetish” for pigtail hairstyle (Don’t think it’s odango style). It looks good, and somehow it is rare running into girls who tie their hair up in pigtails, making it rather unique. Back here, girls with ponytails are like the rare breed. And somehow they seem to be snotty?

^ Tohsaka Rin. One of my fav characters ^^

Character wise, as stated on the above

[...] who’s outgoing, perceptive, resourceful and yet sensible [...]

I don’t mind someone who’s proud and strong as well. Superiority complex? Egotism? I think I’ll be able to handle that.

This sounds very much like Tsundere isn’t it?

Tsundere (ツンデレ?) is a Japanese term for a personality that is initially combative (cranky), and then loving (spoony). Tsundere is a combination of the two words tsuntsun (ツンツン?), and deredere (デレデレ?). Tsuntsun is defined as “aloof, morose, pointed”[1], and deredere is defined as “exhausted, lovestruck, logy”[1]. Tsunderekko is a related noun, referring to a girl with a tsundere personality, as meganekko is for a girl with glasses.

But does Tsundere exist in real life? Some said ‘no’, while one said it’s similar to the personalities of a ‘bitch’. I rest my case on this.

Being a INTP <Link> (Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving), I’m rather attracted to my direct opposite - ESFJ <Link>(Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging).

I believe that in relationships, opposites attract. We are naturally attracted to individuals who are different from ourselves - and therefore somewhat exciting. This is also a natural quest to complete what we lack. This is why men are attracted to women and vice versa? (HAHA pun) This would involve two opposite individuals to engage in an intimate relationship with communication barriers and issues to overcome, making us a more complete individual. Survival of the fittest, no?

This can be seen in my family. I being the INTP, and my sis being almost the direct opposite. We argue, fight - somehow like a love-hate relationship. Both allured to and repulsed to our characters.

Yet, such does not apply to working colleagues, or friends. I would prefer someone who has the similar character as I am. This makes communication much easier, and also understanding each other as well. I personally do not have much patience with people who are ‘different’. Different wave-lengths = Difficult time decoding your needs. I guess we prefer to finish the work quick, then waste more time on it.

The world is a vast place, with many opportunities to meet new people and maybe even the person who you may have a long term relationship with. But who would this person be? It is only when you explore, interact and assess, that you will really know.

Slow down accelerating world

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

Sometimes the world seems to move at too fast a pace. People often look too far ahead, not grasping what is in the present.

[...]That is why even as I chase my dreams and ideals, I am going to be enjoying myself at every moment I can [...]

A quote from one of my favorite reads <Link>.

“Slow down accelerating world”

Quote from Omoi wo Kanadete (Uta Kata’s OP theme)

Many young locals often coin this country as a rather boring place. I did too as well, until I learnt the beautiful places that exist right in front of my very eyes. People should get on a bicycle and explore the places around them, instead of rotting their fat asses at home watching tv , MMORPG-ing or heading straight to the city to shop.

I cycle about 2- 3 times a week. Each ranging from 30 mins ~ 2 hours long. I enjoy it as a recreational sport. Cycling is the most energy-efficient means of transport generally available.

Heading out on the sunny saturday afternoon, I cycled along Boon Lay Way/West Commonwealth Ave, taking a turn at the junction between West Commonwealth Ave and Clementi Road, down towards NUS and the Japanese elementary. Afterwhich, I took another right turn and headed towards West Coast Road, passing by Waseda Shibuya and the Japanese Secondary school and cycled around Pandan Reservoir (approx 4KM in circumference) before going up Jurong Town Hall Road back home.

Pandan Reservoir is a really nice place to visit, both day and night. There are a lot of pretty lights during the night. I’ll try to get photos of it when I get a new camera.

Passing by the Japanese schools, I realized that they were all playing the same sport - Baseball. It’s a really popular sport over there. I stopped by to watch a bit of the action. It’s really sad that we didn’t have baseball back in school.

Anyway, 2 pathetic shots of Pandan Reservoir.

Taken using cellphone’s camera since my Canon IXUS v3 is officially dead (no image feed to LCD screen - Issues with CCD sensor me thinks).

And here’s my new bicycle

Hardtail.
