2006 December - Singapore

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Currently home alone, whilst my parents are in China visiting my relatives. It’s fun, but somewhat weird. I get alot of time to myself to think, yet, without random interruptions, it really pushes the limit of keeping my sanity in check.

I have been reading on media storage devices, audio and video formats etc. Mostly nerdy stuff. Did the Jung personality test as well, and yes, I am a INTP. But your personality type will change overtime. Somehow I think I’m more of a INFP and used to be in the Exxx type :/ Read on the personality types here <Link>

Ok, off with the personal stuff and back to the main ones.

Lots of photos

Christmas Trees

Taken on Christmas Day, whilst walking from City Hall all the way to Takashimaya, Orchard. The pink Christmas tree is really cool. Very refreshing color (at the first glance :) )

Buildings

I really like the one on the right. Very retro-ish :)

Landscapes (?)

Macro (?)

I have no idea why I took a photo of a vase with sun rays being reflected. Abstract?

Fruits on the plate is my first few takes on macro photography, same goes for the flower.

Miscellaneous

Those are the photos I have taken on 25th, 29th, 30th December resepctively. There are indeed many failed experiments. Blurred images, shaky hands, under/over exposed pictures etc. Taken using manual mode on the EOS 400D. I am still a amateur photographer :)

Back to Basics 5

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

I think this “Back to Basics” thing will never end :)

This one’s rather weird. Her body’s probably too skinny? Got to beef her up or something.

Her victory sign seems out of place as well. I shall leave the rest of the comments to you guys.

Passion - Eminence Concert

Monday, December 25th, 2006

It has probably been a long time since I’ve been to a concert, or one that would interest me. The concert entitled ‘Passion’ by Eminence was awesome. The aura and emotions that surrounded the musicians and flowed through the concert hall seemed endless. I felt captured in their web of music. I was there with my friend, Chong. We met up

Familiar Game and Anime soundtracks was played and 2 classical pieces were snuck in as well. I’ll bring up scans of the booklet in a while. The orchestra’s vision is to ‘inject something bold, dynamic and fresh into classical music’ and of which, to break the barriers between the audience and the musicians, and to revive orchestra in today’s society; particularly amongst youth.

The concert also featured music from games including Chrono Cross, Xenosaga, Super Mario Bros etc. Anime pieces selected come from Laputa: Castle in the sky ,Haibane Renmei, Tsubasa Chronicle and .hack//Liminality.

Now, the instruments and their people playing it. Ayako Ishikawa (she’s really beautiful) and Hiroaki Yura (the founder of Eminence) on the violin. Natalia Raspopova (She’s plays the piano really really well!) on the piano, Joshua Hill on percussion and Zane Banks (He’s only 20!) on the guitar. Yasunori Mitsuda as the special guest of honor playing the Irish Bouzouki <Link>. It was also Mr Yasunori Mitsuda’s first time in Singapore. He said that he had always wanted to take a look at the Merlion :)

Rant

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

I’ve been trying to accept this country for what it is, but I realize that I do not belong here. The people are too conservative, back-dated(?). It’s hush-or-you-die kind of thing. It’s either fight or flight.

I’ve decided to take a pathway different from social norm. A pathway that takes risk, but it’s rewards are very benefitical. This requires me to go overseas. Thank you Singapore for all you have done, but it is too limited here, seriously. I’m not meant to be caged.

The preparation work is in it’s phase, as it has been planned for a long time. For it will all begin in 2010/11.

Rain, and more rain

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Alright then, sorry for the recent lack of posts. Work is tiring me out as it takes up about 60% of my daily time.

Over the past few days, we have seen blogs reporting about the mysterious website asosbrigade.com that popped out. With it foretelling the end of the world on 22 Dec together with copyright information for SOS-dan and stuff in Japanese. Many speculate the release of a R1 Haruhi license in 3 days.

I seriously don’t give much of a damn about this. You haruhi fanboys/girls can go “OHHH” and “AHHH” over it while I await ef - the fairy tale of the two which is to be released on the same day :)

It has been raining over the past 2 days as well. Radio reports places with floods and stuff. It’s kinda both good and bad as (good) it isn’t as hot (highest temp was 28 C) , and the bad, floodings and jams on the roads.

I tried to do some night shots of the rain from my baloncy, didn’t turn out that great due to my poor skills ^^;

Also, I realized my Asuka Summer ver figurine is starting to bend way over. In countering that effect, I’ve placed some metal things (the ones used in math brain puzzle games) to support her for a bit. Hope it works
