Video of a image resizing and manipulation demonstration that is totally jaw dropping and I want it in photoshop immediately!
The ability to delete people towards the end of the video is totally crazy.
There is also an online demo of the idea, created by Patrick Swieskowski that’s based on using the seams of images to make the alterations. Users can also upload their own images and manipulate them. Will try it out later. Can’t wait for the real thing to be out!
The related paper written by Dr. Ariel Shamir and Dr. Shai Avidan can be found here.
Daimaou from Akihabara News <Link> and Danny from Dannychoo.com <Link> met up to do a internet show. This is the first internet show they have made, which is kinda rough-around-the-edge, nervous-ness and stuff that. As the weather has been really lousy/bad(?), which means that the first episode had to be taken in Danny’s living room. The torrent file for the HDTV can be found in this post <Link>.
On a scale of 10, I would probably give a 7.5 . The first episode start off rather well. However, I do feel that there are many points in which can be improved. I’ll talk about them below.

You know the guy who did this was hired by Adobe. So it maybe something that they will be included in Photoshop in the future.
Wow, that looks great. Bot not for all cases. This should be default for rescaling photo-like images (everywhere?). We only need algorithm to automatically determine which rescaling method is the “best” one for given image (this would perhaps depend also on source and target sizes).
Btw, it’s relatively expensive comparing to normal interpolation or cropping.
Interesting, and impressive too…I guess the people deletion thing will be good for removing your ex from photos.
it’s a bit hard to understand, as in all the algorithm bla bla bla..but still, nice!!! XD
Thats amazing! I want to try it out on bishojo pics.
@scottfrye: Do hope so. It’s a very handy function to have.
@Karura: LOL! That’s a good idea.
@Danny Choo: LOL! I hope it works.
Wow, awesome. So needs to be in Photoshop!
I wonder why the people who make these videos can never speak well.
I just discovered that those features, i.e. content aware rescaling, as well as area preservation/discard are available in GIMP.
It’s a plug–in called Liquid Rescale and works very well with my 2.4.0-rc3.

Have you got it in your photoshop already? :>
