Akihabara Buskers

4e9b98cd5e8b4540c3038ac843c586c7

Was over at Akihabara again last sunday hoping to grab a couple of shots of cosplayers and cute girls/maids giving out leaflets (Chirashi(チラシ)). Unfortunately, the weather was pretty shit that day as it was raining in the morning.

While walking around, saw a crowd of photographers and decided to tag along. Like they say, when there are photographers, there’s something exciting happening ^^;

These 2 girls were apparently doing Oekaki on each other’s shirts and shoes. This has somehow managed to attract a lot of photographers and cameras started popping out! I guess every time girls do something, the guys go wild.

In the picture above, they were gesturing for those who are first timers here. A couple of school girls raised their hands, and the two girls were thanking them. I wonder why there are school girls on a sunday…

Just realized the website link at the back of her T-shirt. I don’t mind drawing on the shirt if the girls were cute ^^;

This pose reminds me of the Care Bears attack pose ^^;

Is that a Grade C Zettai Ryouiki on the left and a Grade B on the right?

Read more about the different Grades of Zettai Ryouiki (絶対領域(ぜったいりょういき)) over at Tsubaki’s post.

What I really like about Japan is that people can hit the streets, do stuff like these and people will actually stop and enjoy the atmosphere. If it was back in Singapore, you’ll probably get weird looks from people and get labeled as weird or something.

The girl on the top image has nothing to do with this post. She’s the mascot character, Natsume Hatsune Miku for the newly released Vocaloid 2 program. Will get around doing a post on it soon.

Do you have street buskers in your country?

School Swimsuit drink or Meido drink?

    Back in jolly old fi you’d get weird looks, your stuff stolen and police/security guards tell you to GTFO.

    Same here, though some people would just enjoy the atmosphere too.

    And uh, it’s Hatsune Miku >_> (初音ミク)

    I think that there’s school on Sunday in Japan. During my homestay, I saw many students at a nearby high school on Sunday. From what I understand from my host, Japanese High Schools are open on Sundays for students to attend their extra-curriculum activities.

    I think that’s a B zettai ryouiki!

    They probably had less condescending stairs because it was in Akiba… If they did it in Shibuya or Shinjuku, there would probably be some people going wtf - though not as many as in Singapore. O: I love Japan. Hahah

  5. Soshi Says:

    On second thoughts, maybe a B-minus or C-plus…

  6. Deranged Says:

    What’s up with the Hatsune Miku boom nowadays? Other than that it’s done by KEI.

  8. Akiraman Says:

    I remembered at last year Tokyo Game Show there was a band at the Train Station to the Convention Area. They played really good music as we were walking back to the station.

    Grade F for the Zettai Ryouikis. I consider the legs a factor for a good ZR.

    @NovaJinx: Wow. Sounds pretty tough.

    @Zeroblade: Yeah. Made a mistake there ^^;

    @double: Wow. Those kids are sure hardworking. Now compare them to ours.

    @Soshi: Oh yeah. I think that’s the case as well.

    @ルルーシュ・ランペールジ: Their legs are pretty alright to me. Just look at the 6th picture from the top.
