Maid Computers

Don’t know how many of you readers remember the ‘MOE computers!’ post I did back in June, but this time, this one beats them hands down!

And as what the title suggests, Maid Computers!

An Meido Cafe in Akihabara, known as 「メイドステーション・カフェ」　(Maid Station Cafe) has started bringing in computers fitted with a ‘meido’ shaped chassis.

These Otaku-oriented PCs are fitted with Mini-ITX boards, together with a HDD and a optical drive. Together with the nice short skirt, frills and zettai ryouiki, I definitely don’t mind having one of these.

^ Very simple and clean design.

They seem to call it the 「M4125」. There’s a site link at the bottom of the card but I haven’t had time to check it out.

^ Hmm… Lovely ^^;

2 of the M4125 (Don’t they have more Moe-ish names?!) set up and equipped with the respective LCD screens and keyboard.

I don’t know if you can head down to Maid Station Cafe to try those out but from the pictures, it seem to imply that it’s possible.

Won’t mind getting one of these actually, just wonder where the start button is ^^; (Thinks of Chii from Chobits). Do hope that there will be computers like Chii in the future XD

I have been listening to melody.’s for a few days now, with it looping in my player’s playlist and also in the MD.

Who is this melody. then? A short quote from wikipedia reveals more

melody. is a Japanese American born in Hawaii. Her full name is Melody Miyuki Ishikawa. She has three younger sisters, one of whom, Christine, is also involved with the music industry in Japan. She became most popular in Japan when her song “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz was used in a commercial for Mitsubishi. Melody is currently a vegan. She is not to be confused with “MELODY”, who sang the theme song for the CBC drama “Kids War” in Japan.

Mostly recently, melody.’s latest single “Lovin’ U” debuted on the Oricon Weekly Charts at #16. The single includes the B-side “Our Journey.” Which, was the theme song for the 2006 movie Gen Yu Den starring Rena Tanaka, who also co-wrote the lyrics to the song.

Participation in Need for Speed Carbon game.

Does it ring a bell? I have heard one of her songs (‘realize’) once, back when it was in the 2005 Weekly Best 30 Oricon chart.

This album ‘Be as one’ has a very balanced mix of tunes. Sad, happy, and yet an upbeat and catchy album I would say. It is probably not too pop-ish as well.

I particularly like ‘realize’ , ‘Close your eyes’ , ‘Take a chance’ and ‘Next to you’. I could probably describe them as very powerful songs, one to motivate you :) ‘Take a chance’ would be at top if I had to choose from these 4 selected.

You can find this album on the internets, though I urge you to support this artist by buying this album. You might also have realized that Yumi, one of your crew member for NFS:Carbon is actually casted by melody. as well.

P.S. I think I’ll take about 100 out of my paycheck to grab all YUI’s singles, albums and the タイヨウのうた movie DVD ^^

Cosafe – Maid Cafe

The long awaited maid cafe has finally opened it doors! Situated in CHIJMES, I headed down together with bj0rn to check how it is coming along. Apparently, it is the soft-opening (meaning for family and friends to visit) and so it wasn’t really officially opened. Press release would be this Friday or Sunday (Can’t remember which day!). There wasn’t anyone in the meido uniform yet, and most of the stuff are still being shiffted around.

Location wise, I do think CHIJMES would do good. Why? It’s located just opposite Raffles City, although the rent is rather on the expensive side. Mini-akihabara (a.k.a Sunshine Plaza) is also located about 10 minutes walk from the cafe.

There wasn’t much to see on the first day, given it’s soft opening. We managed to have a word with the managing director, Mr Floyd. He at a worried look on his face at first, when he saw that I was carrying a DSLR camera. He approached us and asked

“Are you guys from any clubs? Like SGCafe or Tsubasa Shirou (Think the name is spelt as that) or something like that?”

“Oh no. We’re just ordinary folks that heard of the opening of the cafe”

“Ah ok, well, today’s actually the soft opening”

(Conversation went somewhat like this)

It was originally to be opened in Far East, but it seems that they managed to grab a nice location in CHIJMES.

I’ll be heading back there again probably either this friday or sunday (can’t remember which day!) , where it’s the press release and everyone comes snapping pictures of their maids like no tomorrow :)
