A few of you guys did ask for me to post more pictures of my Japan Trip. I have decided to weed out all the bad photos and limited the selection to 29 photos.

First Photo was taken on a Sunday in Ahikabara. Lots of cosplayers giving out flyers. This girl was pretty smart. She posed in front of me and gave me the flyer after I took her picture ^^;

<Picture Intensive Post!>

As mentioned in my earlier post, I have managed to grab tickets to the screening of Freedom Project and one thing I must say, it’s pretty awesome stuff.

Freedom Project is a Japanese promotion project by Nissin Cup Noodles for their 35th anniversary in 2006. A 6-part OVA series, commissioned with Katsuhiro Otomo (Creator of Akira (1988) and Steamboy (2004)),is entitled ‘Freedom’.

Animation Nation 2007, an annual event that features independent films, starts tomorrow!

One of the main films I’ve gotten tickets for is none other than Makoto Shinkai’s ‘Byousoku 5cm’. Remember just a few months back I was hoping it would come onto the big screens, and the Gods of Anime must have heard me or something and kindly brought it over.

Odex has been hacked. The domain has been taken over and a simple traceroute shows that it now redirects to a website located on Pacific Internet’s server odyssey.pacweb.net.sg.

Here’s what the hacker wrote

This server was fully hacked because the things ODEX are doing are just completly wrong!
So I hacked them due to my deep abominate against this company.

The stupidity of the organisation can not only be seen in the quality of their products or in the disingenuousness of their actions, but also in their skills of web design, compatibility and programming.

You can see that by the fact that the server is now hacked.

Introducing a new feature - Moe Picture of the Day!

Why a “Moe Picture of the Day?” you may ask. Haven’t really got a reason but it’s probably to share ‘moe’ pictures that I come across and also to practice some of the PHP skills I’ve just recently picked up. ^^;

Caught this while reading Tiny Red Man’s blog.

As it says, it’s the EOY Illustration Competition: Sparks of Hope. Create an original character based on the theme “Sparks of Hope” and submit your artwork in A4, 300 DPI, and in JPEG format by 7th December 2007.

The top 3 winners will be able to win attractive prizes and and get their artwork featured on Fresh Mode. Fresh Mode is a 100-page monthly comics magazine targeted at teens and young adult comic readers. More information about the competition can be found here.

I’ll be giving this illustration competition a try. It will be my first art competition so I’m rather nervous about it. Need to submit drafts as well so I better ask some of my more art-inclined friends. There’s roughly 3 more weeks till the submission dateline. Hope I can manage my time even better. I’ve still got a 800 words Japanese essay to submit ^^;
